Chief Executive Officer
As chief executive officer of CPG, Tom Mertz helps the company outpace the data center industry by intentionally transforming how CPG approaches the design, construction, service, monitoring and maintenance of high-powered facilities for its customers.
Tom has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles within the mission-critical data center industry, and he most recently served as CEO of Canara before its merger with CPG in 2019. During his time with Canara, Tom led the team to implement a growth plan that tapped into the industry’s need for more proactive and effective management solutions for backup power systems, leading to the proprietary predictive analytics platform used by CPG today.
Previously, Tom was an executive vice president for QTS, which owns, operates and manages state-of-the-art data center facilities around the world. Tom also spent 10 years at Lee Technologies, where he was instrumental in leading that company’s transformation into a leading solutions provider for the data center industry.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Urban Affairs from Georgia State University with continued leadership education at Emory’s Goizueta Business School and George Mason University.
Tom is an avid golfer and a weekend wake surfer during the summer! As a supporter of middle and high school sports, he’s also spent over 10 years volunteer coaching MS Football.Go Back
