  • Lawrence T. Babbio, Jr.

    Lawrence T. Babbio, Jr. is currently retired and serves on the board of numerous companies and foundations. He most recently served as a Senior Advisor to Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm focused on investment activities in the technology, media and telecommunications industries, from June 2007 until March 2012. Previously, Larry served as Vice Chairman and President of Verizon Communications, Inc., a telecommunications company, from 2000 until his retirement in April 2007. Larry also serves as chairman of the board of trustees of Stevens Institute of Technology and holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from New York University.

  • Jim Fleming

    Jim is currently the managing partner at Columbia Capital where he has been a partner since 1994. Jim focuses on investments in communications services, primarily in wireless, telecom, satellite, and media sectors. To date, Columbia Capital has invested in over 175 companies, ranging from small, early-stage investments to multibillion-dollar public companies. Jim received his B.A. from Stanford University.

  • Patrick Hendy

    Patrick is a partner at Columbia Capital. He joined the firm in 2002 and focuses on investments in the Enterprise IT Services and Internet Infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining Columbia, Patrick served as a senior analyst in the Communications and Media Investment Banking Group of J.P. Morgan in New York, structuring public/private equity and debt financings as well as merger/acquisition transactions. Patrick received his B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University.

  • Grant van Rooyen

    Grant is President of the van Rooyen Group, LLC, a private investment management firm. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Cologix (2010-2018) and prior to his tenure there, Grant was CEO of IX Investments, which was acquired by Cologix in late 2010. He was with Level 3 Communications for 10 years (1999-2009) where he held a number of leadership positions, including President of the Content Markets Group, and was responsible for over $1.5 billion of customer and product revenue. Grant holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance.
